BioMorpho provides business development and venturing expertise to biopharmaceutical companies and venture capital investors. The company contributes to the founding and building of biotech companies and to advancing biotech assets – to achieve the next partnering or financial milestone, and/or exit.

BioMorpho helps ‘morphing’ biotech companies for success. It works with entities ranging from science-rich, emerging companies (e.g. spin-outs, company formation, university start-ups) to venture backed, mid-stage clinical development, or listed firms.

The company is a one-person consultancy firm established in 2018 by Vincent de Groot, PhD, CLP. Dr. de Groot has a proven track record in creating and capturing value, as entrepreneur, business development executive and transactor.

About Vincent de Groot

Vincent de Groot, PhD, CLP, is a biotechnology entrepreneur and seasoned business development executive with 18 years of biotech and pharmaceutical industry experience. His unique profile blends biotech entrepreneurship mentality with hands-on big pharma experience in licensing, acquisitions and venturing. Dr. de Groot founded and built the biotech company Syntarga and led it from inception to exit (Trade Sale). He transacted on both sides of the table, as a big pharma transactor (AbbVie; buy-side) and as a biotech executive (CEO/VP) (Syntarga, Synthon; sell-side). He was on both sides of the table as a life sciences corporate investor and as a fundraising CEO. De Groot originated, led and co-led, negotiated and executed deals in the oncology, immuno-oncology, immunology and CNS/neuroscience therapeutic areas; in spaces such as drug targeting and delivery, target discovery, small molecules, antibodies, conjugates, technology platforms and cell-based (immuno-oncology) therapies. He is a C-level executive with an international profile, leading multidisciplinary teams across continents, representing private and public, US-based and European companies, and NewCo to LargeCo companies. He has a global business and scientific network in industry (biotech and pharma), the VC community (corporate and institutional VCs) and academia.

Vincent de Groot established BioMorpho in 2018. Prior thereto, he served as Senior Director, Licensing, Acquisitions and Ventures for AbbVie. Prior to AbbVie, he was Vice President of Business Development & Licensing at Synthon BioPharmaceuticals. Before joining Synthon Biopharmaceuticals, Dr. de Groot founded the biotech company Syntarga and led the company as CEO to its Trade Sale. He started his career as a scientist with a (cum laude) PhD degree and he was granted 5 national and international scientific awards.
